Mountain Biking & Hiking Routes

We are very lucky to have access to the wonderful Nature reserve and MTO Forestry that surrounds us. Permits can only be bought from us and we also have route descriptions and maps available as well as GPS units for hire.

We have also created some single track on our venue ranging from basic to technical so that you can hone your skills!

We can also arrange for you to have access to other Tulbagh areas so that you can experience the magic of the whole valley.

Once at the summit of 500m you overlook the hidden valley which is forested. You then descend along an old prisoner of war made gravel road down into the valley and you link in with the sandy forestry road. This then leads you out of the hidden valley where you climb another 100m to your max elevation for the day of 634m and then you descend down some great gravel roads to the old Forestry Station and along a nice 15km route back to Waterval.

You then descend and you follow the the valley edge all the way around to the lovely river crossing that marks the top of the huge waterfall! Take a moment to stop and take a look at the waterfall or continue on and find your way up the old Prisoner of War roads up on to another summit that looks down on to Waterval. It is then a descent down to the finish at Waterval.
