Prove to yourself that Robin Hood is no match for you. 6 different activities are run, all involving archery. From basic use of bow and arrow to blindfolded/assisted shooting, to competition at distance, all facilitated and taken back to the workplace, to make this an effective and fun interactive experience to better your team and personal abilities.

Teams race against each other, to get a barrel out of a big circle on the ground, without ever stepping into that circle. The competition causes teams to overlook important detail in the planning phase and it always takes longer than expected. Sound familiar doesn’t it. This activity addresses

Mastering the skills of soccer are difficult enough but doing it blindfold is a completely new story. Half the team is blindfolded, while the remaining team members are to guide them in the game. Lots of fun, but takes more planning, than most team plan on. (Pro-active communication skills,

Team members are to pair up, while one gets blindfolded, the other gets the responsibility to guide their partner and just to make sure the guide does not send their blindfolded partner bumping into all that lies ahead, the roles are reversed halfway. Great tool for interpersonal functionality, as

While being blindfolded, teams are to lay a lengthy rope in all types of shapes and sizes.

Taking you back a couple of years, to big wooden puzzle pieces. This time however, you do not have the big picture. Teams are to build a puzzle cut from wooden boards. The fact that there is no picture to relate to increases the difficulty and forces groups to look deeper than what we see at face value. (Perception, involvement, motivation)

Walking in perfect straight line in difficult enough but make that straight line a cable and lift it 8m into the air and we are talking about a whole new ballgame. Throw in some safety harnesses, a team motivating you and you get yourself a challenge you just cannot miss.

Construct a wooden bridge strong enough to cross a small stream of water. Then use this bridge to cross the stream and get back. This is all easy enough, but building it and setting it up, while only being allowed on one side of the stream. (Planning, trust, teamwork)

A lateral thinking exercises. Teams have to balance a drum in the air, using specified equipment. Unfortunately, it always sounds easier than it is in reality. Great way to work on motivation and involvement. (Motivation, perseverance, mindset towards excellence)

The change games play a round of spot the difference with actual team members. The level of challenge in coming up with new items to change for the activity escalates rapidly and creates both fun, as well as a personal challenge. 

Great for understanding the role of stress on personal focus, team value and synergy, as well as addresses the balance between giving and getting from the team.

The game of kings and in this instance, it is being played with our mere mortals. Team members are to take up the position of the key pieces on this life size board. In this activity planning, agility and some luck is of the essence to complete the task at hand. Teams are to cross an open section of ground without touching the ground. They have some pieces of building material to assist them in

this task.

The ultimate activity in group cohesion. Groups are to put a thin pole down on the ground without ever letting go of it, sounds easy, doesn’t it? No teams we know of have ever managed this on the first attempt. (Reliability and trust, communication, blame shifting)

The reality of morality and how we perceive it is what this game is all about. Teams are asked to list a group of people according to morality. Naturally our perception of morality differs and this creates an ideal setting to get to know each other a lot better.

Communication at its best. Team members are to guide each other through a grid of mines using a map. However, the guide is never to see the actual grid, causing team members to trust fully on their ability to communicate properly. When one or more teams are busy with the same grid at the

same time, prioritizing gets a whole new meaning.

Become the Richard Branson, you knew you had hidden somewhere inside of you. This activity is a combination of some of the above-mentioned activities, but monetary value is attached to the outcome of the activities. The aim of the game is to make money. Teams decide what they would
like to invest, buy, and gamble with, all to be the team with the most money at the end of this. (Group cohesion, challenge, planning. This activity also gives a nice insight to those members of staff that are not in the position, to wheel and deal with funds, other than their own)

All of us have at some stage in life wondered what it would be like to be a Hollywood star, here is your chance. Together with your team members, you are to write an ad for your company, we provide you with the necessary make-up, props, costumes and studio, including a digital video camera. At the end of the time allowed in studio, you provide us with a filmed ad, to be cut onto cd and a copy to be given to all team members. (Fun, creativity, teamwork)

Take a leisurely stroll to the waterfall and taking a swim in the rock pools is something we
nowadays only see in romantic movies. At Waterval it is part of life and a lovely way to start a day.

This activity originated in the camel trophy and still challenges groups 9 years after it was first used. By means of several long ropes, groups have to navigate a totem pole through a spiral. This takes more teamwork and better communication than most thought would ever be necessary in life. (Communication, group cohesion, role clarity, focus)

Teams are to cross a hanging “train bridge” without stepping off. The key is to find a sequence and to repeat until finished, but for some reason none of us ever believe that things can be this easy, and it is then when things get difficult. The grand finale of most team builds hosted at Waterval. Teams are to assemble a working system of transporting team members across a lake. This is easy enough for those who can swim, but not being allowed to touch the water, does move the difficulty rating up a notch or two. The ultimate in trust activities. We are very use to being trustworthy, in other words, others can trust us no matter when or where. But trusting others is a completely different story. In this activity team members are to fall backwards into the catching arms of the rest of their team members.
Nobody ever carries more than about 7 kg, but still, we struggle to trust them. (Trust, personal views)

Teams are to make specific knots at appointed marks in a lengthy piece of rope. This is all easy enough, but the fun starts when all team members are tied into the same piece of rope. (Group perception, adaptability, managing skills)

This activity captures some of the key elements of strategically planning. Teams are to plan their way into shuffling tyres between three stations. Of course, there are some rules regarding this shuffling of the tyres, just to keep all involved, thinking and planning to their full capacity. As if that
is not enough, this brilliant plan must then be applied and only one opportunity is allowed. (Strategic planning, interpretation and communication, excellence)

The auction is a fun exciting event developed for bigger teams with a limited amount of time to spend on an activity.

The bigger team is split into teams of 10 people per team; each team receives a budget to spend on the auction. The aim of the activity is to build a bridge between 2 structures and prove its functionality by driving a small radio controlled car across the bridge. All building material must be bought on auction, hosted by the facilitator. Building material ranges from wooden dowels, newspapers, glue and sticky tape to packets of sweets and toilet paper.

The survivor challenge runs on a fun competition format, where all teams are involved in the same activity at the same time. This builds on the team spirit and the general atmosphere of the activity. All activities run on a points base and the team with the highest amount of points at the end of the day wins the challenge.

are eliminated if they are hit by the ball.

Sum total of the individual elements. The same is true for a team that understands the dynamic of the members, have clarity on the goal, formulated a course of action that will achieve the goal and has the buy in of the members.

This activity test the theory to the fullest. Just how much are your team capable of doing these

things right. The activity takes the form of a lengthy obstacle course challenge covering around 2,5 km.

Teams are to force their way through a bulk of information/clues/data to get results in a time driven environment.
